Trip to Utah
Thursday, Aug 13th, Clint and I and the kids took off to Utah for a quick family vacation before school starts. Thurs night we went to St. George and stayed with Clint's Gma Brown. She is the most wonderful person and I am so glad that my kids have a chance to get to know her. The kids loved slumber partying in Gma's back room with beds and everything, while Clint and I looked at old pics of Clint's dad and others with Grandma. It was so great! Friday morning we woke up to the usual "Grandma Brown Breakfast!!" YUMMY! Eggs, bacon, cereal, pancakes... the works! It was awesome. Then we were off to fill up the truck and head to Layton to stay the rest of the time with my littlest sister, Kristin and her hubby, Ryan. It was a nice drive (cool weather). When we got there my other sister Jody, and her hubby Josh, and their daughter, Madelyn were there. We visited and had lunch and then the girls and Josh went shopping, and Ryan, Jaron, Clint, and Ry and Krissy's weblos came over and they all played video games all night. haha. Friday we got all ready to go the Hogle Zoo and made a really good effort to go, BUT it was really cold outside (especially for us desert rats) and even after dressing the kids in warmer clothes, including jackets, we got up to the zoo and it was about 40 degrees (with the wind chill) so we decided to ditch that idea. We ended up going to the Aquarium (indoors) and had a fun time there. Coming out of there we were met with BEAUTIFUL weather... about 70 degrees! Awesome! We all went to lunch after that. Saturday night we went to Pleasant Grove to my Uncle Tony's house where we met up with cousins and aunt's and uncles for a bbq dinner and lots of visiting! It was the best! Thanks Tony for the yummy bbq. It was so good. And for providing your home for all of us to hang out at. Sunday church was great!! It was fun going to Kristin's ward and meeting friends of there's. The kids loved primary. Afterwards Kris and Ry made Cafe Rio pork and we had a delicious dinner!! Then after naps we hung out outside in the beautiful weather with Kristin's nice neighbors and their kids. The cute neighbor kid decided to squirt Ryan with a water gun which started a massive water gun fight with Ryan winning (of course) with his huge super soaker. haha. It was quite entertaining! Monday we met Ryan for lunch at a yummy burger joint called Crown Burgers. It was greasy and delicious!!! While we were there we were trying to decide what to do next and Kristin volunteered to watch Lily and Carson so we could take the older two to Lagoon. We'd never been there and Kristin had coupons so we decided to go! :) It was REALLY FUN!! We stayed til about 10pm that night and Jaron and Emma were in heaven. Thanks Krissy and Ryan!! Tuesday was my 33rd birthday and time to go home. We didn't want to leave and shouldn't of cause the ride home sucked!! haha. We stopped 3 times for about an hour each cause the kids kept getting car sick (luckily nobody threw up) so it took forever to get home. All in all, it was a wonderful trip. thanks a ton to Kristin and Ryan for being such great hosts and for being such great family!!! Luv you guys!
Emma and Lily with Tony and Ginger's dog in their backyard. Poor dog couldn't get away from them. haha.
Carson hangin out in the front yard watching Jake and his friend drive their remote control car in the culdesac. haha. he's so cute!
Emma in Ginger's new convertible bug. Emma pretended to drive it and stayed in it for atleast 30 minutes... if not more! She wants one now! haha Thanks Ginger!
My cousin, Kelly's husband Dan with their little boy, Henry... on my cousin, Justin's motorcycle. So cute!! Henry was so sick, but stayed as happy as a clam the whole time. He's such a sweetie!
On Sunday morning Ryan gave us a lesson about his Alligator Snapping Turtle (I think that's what it's called). She was so so so ugly, but sooo cool at the same time! Her name is Mahanna (for those of you that know the 8 cow wife story, it's funnier) haha.
Me with their sweet Chameleon! She was so cool. Clint went to put her on my hand and she just crawled up my arm to my shoulder and that's where she stayed for a little while. haha. I was a lot more relaxed when I found out she was nice and wouldn't bite me. :)
On one of our stops on the way home... in Fillmore (I think). They had these cool statues by the street so we had to take pics by them. :)
