Another Awesome Whirlwind Week!.... with lots of subtitles....

How fun is this... another long post with bunches of pictures. My family is asleep and I can't sleep so I thought it'd be a good time to get caught up! (I started this post last night) I've had another busy, wonderful last week and a half... Starting 2 Fridays ago (Sept 19th).

TOP DOG and SPIRIT DAY:

I went to the school to help with Top Dog and Spirit Day. We gave out fruit snacks at lunch time to all the kiddies wearing school colors and then after lunch we took all the "Top Dogs" (the teachers pick two kids out of their class that have done a great job over the last month to be "top dog") into a room and gave them certificates and they got to eat popsicles. And Emma was Top Dog in her class so I got to hang out with her for while at school. It was so fun!!

Yes, I know I'm wearing a UNLV shirt, but I don't have a Hinman Huskies shirt that fits at the moment. haha.

TIME OUT FOR WOMEN:

Ok, so Friday after the school thing I'm hanging out at home and I get phone call from an awesome lady in my ward. She says she has 2 tickets for Time Out For Women this weekend and can't use them because she's sick and her friend that she was going with is out of town. She asks me if I want them and I am dying to say YES!! OF COURSE!! , but I had promised to watch my sister, Shannon's kids. So, I told her that I needed to make a couple of phone calls and I'd call her back. I called Shannon and told her what was going on and if she wanted to go with me... dumb question... she, of course, said YES! Our husbands were the next to convince and neither of them had any problem with it (what awesome hubbies we have!!), so we were off to Cashman Center for a totally WONDERFUL night of uplifting music and speakers. Hillary Weeks sang and spoke, and Elia Gourgouris (a Dr of psychology and president of LDSCoaching.com) spoke. He was great! Funny and wonderfully inspiring! Then we had a concert put on by the Nashville Tribute band. They are the ones that do the CD's "Joseph: A Nashville Tribute to Joseph Smith" and "Trek: A Nashville Tribute to the Pioneers". If you've never heard of them or listened to these CD's, I HIGHLY recommend that you do. :) It was awesome. They talked and sang and talked and sang... So Cool! Shannon and I had a blast! Coolest thing was that I ran into a girl I hadn't seen in 14 years in the boys bathroom! haha... ok, they made all the bathrooms in the place women's bathrooms for the weekend due to the nature of the conference. :) Anyways- Her name is Amy and when I lived in CA (when I was a jr. in High School) she was in my ward and she drove me to seminary every morning. It was SOOO cool to see her, and at the break I went to talk to her again and got to see her mom too! Amy lives here in Vegas now. My favorite thing is to run into people at places I don't expect. The world is so small. Well, the next day, Saturday, I went with Clint's sister Rebecca. We had a great time. Hillary Weeks sang and hosted the event. She did a great job. More fantastic speakers and lunch with sisters from the stake that I hadn't seen in a while... and that was so cool. It was really what I needed and I hope that Bec and Shannon had as good a time as I did.

While I was at TOFW, Clint took the kids to a block party the city of henderson hosted, at the park by our house, for our neighborhood! Fun and good Food!! Carson is so cute!

JODY AND JOSH'S BABY SHOWER:

This past Friday night we had my sister's baby shower! Jody is my sister and Josh is her hubby and they are having there first baby in a week or two.... I know she doesn't look that pregnant, but she is. It was a FUN shower and tons of people were there. They got a lot of wonderful stuff and had a great time. Josh, Me, and Jody (no, she doesn't have heels on, and yes, she's younger then me) Isn't she adorable though!

MY DAD'S 60th BIRTHDAY SURPRISE PARTY!!!

On Saturday we had a surprise party for my dad! It was a lot of fun. Friends that he's had for a long time were there. Thanks Lynda for providing the DELICIOUS rolls and your fun laugh, and janine for your help in last minute decorating, and thanks Doug for taking my dad for a spin in your convertable mustang. So cool! Thanks Dad C. for the silly button and your expert trivia knowledge! The coolest surprise was my dad's only sister and her hubby came in from CA for the day. He totally wasn't expecting it and his jaw dropped when he saw her! Fun times! We watched a video that Clint made that chronicalled my dad's life. It was great! And we played 1948 (the year my dad was born) and 1968 (the year my dad went on his mission) trivia. We had great food and tons of fun!

Then on Saturday evening my sister in laws, mother in law, and Shannon got together at Bec's house and watched the General Relief Society Broadcast, which was wonderful!! Thanks Bec for hosting. I love being with the girls!

PS... General Conference was two Sundays ago and the ward boundaries in our stake were all rearranged. We are now in Black Mountain ward. It has about half of the old Lake Mead ward in it, some of Horizon, and some of Black Mtn. It's a great ward and it's big. We've only been to church once, but loved it, and can't wait to get involved. :)

PSS... BTW- I got called as the new Relief Society President. WOW!!! :)

Helping Hands

OK. Can I just say that my sister in law, Rachel, is the coolest! On Tuesday night she, along with the rest of the RS presidency in her Las Vegas ward, put together this wonderfully awesome night on "being the Lord's Hands here on earth". It was a night about serving others. Rachel did an awesome DVD slideshow that they showed with pictures of the sisters in the ward with eachother (some were so cute and silly) and then in between the pics there were quotes of things the sisters had said about eachother, and ways they'd been served by eachother. This whole thing was put to music (a song by the "Friends"... remember the Friends... I used to go to their firesides when I was a teenager and beyond! I LOVE their music, and one of the singers and the lady that writes their music is in Rachel's ward... LUCKY!). It was so cool. Then she did another DVD on her computer with a children's book (all the pics), narrated by a lady in her ward (sounded professional) about these 4 great friends that served eachother. It was so wonderful. The coolest was that Rachel asked me to be the speaker for the evening! It was so much fun. Secretly, I love speaking, especially to my sisters in the gospel! It turned out great. (I have to say that I didn't know how to start my talk up until the day before I gave it. I was racking my brain for a way to tie it all together. Then my neice made a comment about my dirty gardening gloves I was working with out in the yard and the quote by sister Hinckley that is on Katrina's blog popped into my head! IT WAS PERFECT!! Thank you Katrina!!) The best part of the night was visiting with all my "new" sisters afterwards. They were all so welcoming and so nice!! I even loved helping clean up afterwards... of course, that's because it included more visiting. Nothing's better then working and talking side by side! They gave out frienship bread starters with recipe books, and little hand pins afterwards, and we ate friendship bread (different flavors) and hot apple cider for dessert. It was even decorated beautifully. Well... Thank you Rachel, for inviting me to speak. It was very flattering and really was a lot of fun! The night turned out really lovely! You're the best! BTW Rachel- when did your hair get so long... I noticed in the pic below. Looks great! haha. :)

Another nephew turns one!!

My little nephew, Ammon, turned one on Sept 11. It was such a fun party. We had it in Shannon and Jesse's new house. The kids LOVED playing together and the guys LOVED playing rockband. :) Pics... The last two weeks in a very large nutshell...

FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL

Yep, I'm the only mother on the face of the earth that only took 1 picture of her kids on the first day of school. haha. I was slacking this year!! Emma is in 1st grade this year and totally loves it. She has an awesome teacher and of course, is the teacher's pet. Jaron is in 5th grade and has a totally awesome teacher too! He's still Jaron and doesn't like school, but he does really like his teacher so that helps a lot. :) No Lily is not in school... she just likes to think she is and carries her backpack with her every morning when we walk to school. The first day, she had her lunch box too...haha

This particular morning I walked away and when I came back he looked like this. He was close enough to the bowl to dig right in himself. haha. Check out how fat his legs are... I have to squeeze them in there. (He can actually sit by himself and crawl around and is pulling himself up on things... so so fun now)

Jennifer and her new man. Jennifer and Mike (the guy she's been dating for a little while now) have been over a few times the last couple of weeks to just hang out, or watch movies. I've totally loved it. Clint and I think Mike is great and fun. Plus it's been so fun to be around Jen a lot more and Carson LOVES Mike's bling. haha. CLINT'S MOM'S BIRTHDAY! We had Clint's mom's bday 2 Sunday's ago and all had dinner together. It was really cool, cause Mallory (Kasey's girlfriend), and Kelly and Ashley came down for it. And Clint got permission to stop by and spend a little time with us. Yummy food and Fabulous company makes for an awesome night!

This is the only cheesecake I like. It's Bec's (Clint's sister) and it's the best!!! All other cheesecake I can't stand.. don't ask me why, I don't know. :)

LABOR DAY MORNING!!

On Monday morning Clint decided to take all of us on a little walk/hike. We went to the Mormon Tea Trail (piece of cake, less than a mile, all paved) and walked it. Clint made a little lesson out of it so we decided it would be out Family Home Morning. It was really fun and we had a little picnic at the trail head after we got back. Then went to Anthem Hills Park and played for a little while.

LABOR DAY AFTERNOON!!

All the Campbell's met at River Mountain Park and had a fun afternoon of eating, waterballoon olympics, ohter games, and volleyball. It was so nice and it's the reason I love labor day so much. It's been a tradition to get together with Campbell's at the park and I don't ever want it to end. So fun!!
