Another Awesome Whirlwind Week!.... with lots of subtitles....

How fun is this... another long post with bunches of pictures. My family is asleep and I can't sleep so I thought it'd be a good time to get caught up! (I started this post last night) I've had another busy, wonderful last week and a half... Starting 2 Fridays ago (Sept 19th).

TOP DOG and SPIRIT DAY:

I went to the school to help with Top Dog and Spirit Day. We gave out fruit snacks at lunch time to all the kiddies wearing school colors and then after lunch we took all the "Top Dogs" (the teachers pick two kids out of their class that have done a great job over the last month to be "top dog") into a room and gave them certificates and they got to eat popsicles. And Emma was Top Dog in her class so I got to hang out with her for while at school. It was so fun!!

Yes, I know I'm wearing a UNLV shirt, but I don't have a Hinman Huskies shirt that fits at the moment. haha.

TIME OUT FOR WOMEN:

Ok, so Friday after the school thing I'm hanging out at home and I get phone call from an awesome lady in my ward. She says she has 2 tickets for Time Out For Women this weekend and can't use them because she's sick and her friend that she was going with is out of town. She asks me if I want them and I am dying to say YES!! OF COURSE!! , but I had promised to watch my sister, Shannon's kids. So, I told her that I needed to make a couple of phone calls and I'd call her back. I called Shannon and told her what was going on and if she wanted to go with me... dumb question... she, of course, said YES! Our husbands were the next to convince and neither of them had any problem with it (what awesome hubbies we have!!), so we were off to Cashman Center for a totally WONDERFUL night of uplifting music and speakers. Hillary Weeks sang and spoke, and Elia Gourgouris (a Dr of psychology and president of LDSCoaching.com) spoke. He was great! Funny and wonderfully inspiring! Then we had a concert put on by the Nashville Tribute band. They are the ones that do the CD's "Joseph: A Nashville Tribute to Joseph Smith" and "Trek: A Nashville Tribute to the Pioneers". If you've never heard of them or listened to these CD's, I HIGHLY recommend that you do. :) It was awesome. They talked and sang and talked and sang... So Cool! Shannon and I had a blast! Coolest thing was that I ran into a girl I hadn't seen in 14 years in the boys bathroom! haha... ok, they made all the bathrooms in the place women's bathrooms for the weekend due to the nature of the conference. :) Anyways- Her name is Amy and when I lived in CA (when I was a jr. in High School) she was in my ward and she drove me to seminary every morning. It was SOOO cool to see her, and at the break I went to talk to her again and got to see her mom too! Amy lives here in Vegas now. My favorite thing is to run into people at places I don't expect. The world is so small. Well, the next day, Saturday, I went with Clint's sister Rebecca. We had a great time. Hillary Weeks sang and hosted the event. She did a great job. More fantastic speakers and lunch with sisters from the stake that I hadn't seen in a while... and that was so cool. It was really what I needed and I hope that Bec and Shannon had as good a time as I did.

Me and Shannon! Bec has the picture of her and I on Saturday on her camera so I didn't post it... yet. :)

This is Amy and her mom, Lyn (I think that's her first name... all I knew her as was Sister Parkin... I was only 16 when I knew them). So fun to see them there!

Me and Beautiful Amy. I was having a seriously 80's "wave" hairstyle going that day. I had a much better hair day on Saturday... I promise! :)

Nashville Tribute Band!!! The guy in the white shirt served his mission here back in 1991! They all have awesome testimonys and phenomenal talent!!

While I was at TOFW, Clint took the kids to a block party the city of henderson hosted, at the park by our house, for our neighborhood! Fun and good Food!! Carson is so cute!

JODY AND JOSH'S BABY SHOWER:

This past Friday night we had my sister's baby shower! Jody is my sister and Josh is her hubby and they are having there first baby in a week or two.... I know she doesn't look that pregnant, but she is. It was a FUN shower and tons of people were there. They got a lot of wonderful stuff and had a great time. Josh, Me, and Jody (no, she doesn't have heels on, and yes, she's younger then me) Isn't she adorable though!
The happy couple. They are going to name the baby Madeline Elizabeth. So cute!
Old friends!! Jody and Janine, and Jenalyn and Courtney.
These are our cousins for CA, Leslie and David, with their stinkin' adorable baby girl, Raegan. She is beautiful.. but she was tuckered out from a long day.
Long time friends!.. Dia, Britany, Jillian, Connie holding Kayden. We love the Dennis family!!

MY DAD'S 60th BIRTHDAY SURPRISE PARTY!!!

On Saturday we had a surprise party for my dad! It was a lot of fun. Friends that he's had for a long time were there. Thanks Lynda for providing the DELICIOUS rolls and your fun laugh, and janine for your help in last minute decorating, and thanks Doug for taking my dad for a spin in your convertable mustang. So cool! Thanks Dad C. for the silly button and your expert trivia knowledge! The coolest surprise was my dad's only sister and her hubby came in from CA for the day. He totally wasn't expecting it and his jaw dropped when he saw her! Fun times! We watched a video that Clint made that chronicalled my dad's life. It was great! And we played 1948 (the year my dad was born) and 1968 (the year my dad went on his mission) trivia. We had great food and tons of fun!

Dad Mangum (my dad) wearing his gift from Dad Campbell (Clint's dad) proudly! (a button that says "old fart". haha)

Dad opening presents. Clint holding Carson, Uncle Russ and Aunt Karen (my dad's sister), Dad, and Doug Carter

The Partiers! Some of my family... kinda clockwise from center Dad.. Me, Jeremy (my only brother), Rachel (his wife), Shannon (my sis), mom, Jennifer (my sis), Clint (my man), Jody (my sis), Josh (her hubby), and Kristin (my baby sis)

GENERAL RS BROADCAST:

Then on Saturday evening my sister in laws, mother in law, and Shannon got together at Bec's house and watched the General Relief Society Broadcast, which was wonderful!! Thanks Bec for hosting. I love being with the girls!

LtoR: Front row... Rochelle (holding Mack), Bec, Jeni. Back row... Mom Campbell, Shannon, Me

PS... General Conference was two Sundays ago and the ward boundaries in our stake were all rearranged. We are now in Black Mountain ward. It has about half of the old Lake Mead ward in it, some of Horizon, and some of Black Mtn. It's a great ward and it's big. We've only been to church once, but loved it, and can't wait to get involved. :)

PSS... BTW- I got called as the new Relief Society President. WOW!!! :)

Moo-You gotta post more often! There is so much that I want to comment on! :)
I have gone to a "take time out for women" before and it is wonderful. It is great that you saw the Nashville thing. We saw it when we first moved here in washington DC and it was so cool to hear that one guy talk about serving a mission in Las Vegas...we knew some of the same people! Another member of the group was the piano player from Diamond Rio-since you didn't mention him, I wonder if he is not part of the group anymore.
It is also so cool that you ran into someone you knew from so long ago. We also ran into a couple from henderson, so that was cool-I think it was the Holland family???not sure because it was almost 3 years ago.
Jody DOES look pregnant-probably because she is so skinny that her belly is a shock. :)
WOW I can't believe your pop is 60!!! That sounds like such a fun party. We missed out big time!!!
Congrats on the RS calling-I know you will do a great job!You already have the most important part down: you love everyone! especially me. ha ha ha.

Here's a reply to you guys... Al- yes, the diamond rio guy is still in the group, but he wasn't there that night, because he was doing a gig with diamond rio. The lead guy said that he's (the DR guy) has only missed 5 shows with Nashville Tribute even though he's a part of Diamond Rio. They were so cool. And yes, I do love people and I DO LOVE LOVE LOVE YOU!! :)
Hopie- you gotta go to TOFW. Next year it won't be here in Vegas... they are having it in St. George though so it'll be easier for you to go. It's so awesome!!! And yes, I LOVED the broadcast. It was perfect for me too... ra, ra, ra for the both of us. haha. :)
Nat- that is the same day as our Super Saturday. What's the hours for the BMRC craft show? I'm going to try to make it anyways just so I can check your stuff out, and of course say HI to you too!! :)
Bec- i can't wait for conference either. I'm looking forward to sucking in as much as possible and then hanging out with the Campbell clan before life gets crazy! :) I'm looking forward to the crazy weekends ahead too... especially the 11th! Yay Kayden and Stephanie!!

Oh Michelle, I love your "nutshell" posts (I'm like Janine... I wish I had more to post about). I agree with Al, you will be a great RS president because you love everybody. I'm happy you got to go to TOFW, and I'm sad that I missed your Dad's b-day party and Jody's baby shower. Anyway, love you and I'm looking forward to this weekend with the family. (Also, FYI - I think Natalie posted the hours for the craft show on her Handbag blog.)
