Carson's owee. :)

Well, it finally happened. I had a kid get stitches. :) We were all sitting in the family room Sunday night watching "Lion King". It was a nice peaceful evening together. Carson was holding a bottled water and walking toward a couch and tripped over a pillow. I heard a crunching sound and Carson crying. Clint and I looked over and poor little Carson was crying and holding his mouth with his hand. He pulled his hand away and there was a lot of blood. We quickly took him into the kitchen to clean him off and Clint said, "Oh man, I think that's gonna need stitches." Jaron had a soda can sitting on the floor next to the couch he was laying on and when Carson fell his mouth his right on the sharp round opening of the can and sliced his little lip open. Clint took him to the ER while I waited for my mom to come over. Carson was really good until he had to lay down. Then the screaming started. Realizing there was no way he was holding still for this, the doctor sedated him (with a double dose cause he was still thrashing around with the first one) and stitched him up. The wierdest, saddest, and funniest part (in that order) of the whole thing was Carson coming out of the sedation. It gave Clint and I a good laugh for the evening. The nurse told us it would be as if he drank a six pack of beer... and oh boy was it. :) I'm glad he's ok though and acting like his old self. What a trooper. :)

They covered his eyes so he couldn't see what was going on and to keep his eyes from drying out. So yes, he was awake and his little eyes were open under that gauze. This was after they put the big sterile paper over his face where there is a hole just for the spot that needs stitches. Poor little dude.

What a good boy!!

No mom ever wants to see this happen to their babies....
Soda cans are the Worst at splitting things open... I was watching a little girl when she sliced her finger open on one... :(
Hope he's feeling better

Sooo sad. Its no fun when your little one gets hurt bad. I always wish I could take their place. At least they recover quickly.
