13 years ago... yesterday! (I'm a little late)

Yep, August 26, 1995, Clint and I were married in the Las Vegas Temple! Wow, I can't believe it's been that long! I was soooo head over heels in love with him and... I still am. I met him during a high school play we were both in. I was 15 and a sophmore in high school. He was 18 and a senior. We still talk about it now and it's so fun to remember back to those wonderfully silly times. Clint even wrote a song about it a little while later and last night in bed he pulled out his guitar and sang it to me. What a cool guy!! I remember when he first called my house and it sent my heart pitterpattering like crazy. Fortunately, I can still say after so many years, my heart still goes pitterpatter when he I see him or hear his voice! What a lucky girl I am!!

Well, I thought I'd take a blast back to the past and post some fun pictures of that day. Enjoy the Fabulous style of the mid 90's, and the inexpensiveness of my wedding (I borrowed my wedding dress from Clint's cousin, I borrowed my veil from a lady in my ward, a member of the bishopric took our pictures, Clint made my bouquet, my mom made most of the dresses, my exboyfriend's family decorated the cultural hall, Grandma Brown made the beautiful cake, my friend got us our caketop, family took care of serving punch, and cups of nuts, mints, and m&ms, and a tape player was our DJ, AND we didn't have any money for our honeymoon til we opened our cards on the way to the Luxor Hotel to find all the cash! haha) It was one of the best days of my life!!! (Yes, my colors were mint green and light pink.... I still like those colors together. haha)

AT THE TEMPLE:

I love it... good memories), 4- The nice cake picture, 5- Clint breaking the rules and shoving it in my face. :), 6- Our dance! Don't we look so in love. :) (If you look close Clay and Allison are dancing behind us... they got married 4 months later), 7- Daddy and Me kickin up the rug!, 8- Our Car! Decorated by my cousins Nathan and Brent (the inside was filled with wadded up newspaper) We drove all the way to the luxor like that and valet parked. We got a lot of cheers from onlookers. It was so fun! 9- In charge of refreshments... my Aunt Karen and Uncle Russ, Jody, and Kolby (so little), 10- In charge of the book and presents... Shannon and Rochelle (w/ a friend Carla Nielsen).

And here's to 13 more fantastic, wonderful, eventful, and loving years!!

Oh, man, I was nervous as I was scrolling down to the Campbell family picture... what was I thinking with those bangs?! It was so fun to see how young everyone was, and can you believe how great Mom looked and she had just had a baby two months earlier? And how much hair Dad Campbell had? And how long your hair was? I'm so glad you married into our family because I love you and all the Mangum's so much!

Congrats Michelle!! You guys are so adorable! I have to agree with everyone that Clint looked so different, but then I'm sure most people do look a bit different than 13 years ago. And you're hair was so long. You're such a doll, Michelle! I love to hear when couples are still so much in love after many years. And I can totally relate to the butterflies. Talk to ya soon!

Hey... my name is Hope Clyde. I am married to Randy Clyde from Hurricane. Our husbands served in Scotland together. Randy found your blog on the mission website so we were checking it out. Randy said to tell Clint, "HI!!!".

Hopie said...

Well obviously I don't mind if you add me to your blog list, I already added you to mine (it's the only way to remember yours). Randy's mom is a Campbell from Hurricane, I don't know if our families are related (she's Max Campbell's daughter). I'll have to check. We have tons of family in Vegas but none in Henderson. You'll have to come by when you're up some time. You'll drive right by our house on the way to Ivins. It would be fun!!!

wow I can't believe it has been that long. We thought that the 80's were bad but the 90's were almost as bad.

BTW I just tagged you on the family blog. Come check it out
