Aliente Nature Discovery Park

Monday, April 6th, was the first day of the kids spring break and fortunately, Clint had it off. So, we decided to make a fun family day out of it. We drove across town to visit the well talked about Aliente Nature Discovery Park. It ended up being well worth the drive. It's a beautiful park with a big "dinosaur" sand box, GREAT slides and play area, a couple of great ponds, and a beautiful waterfall. Lots of open area to run and play too. It was gorgeous weather too, which made it that much better! After playing there for several hours, we drove down the street for frozen custard... YUM!! It was a fun day!

Goodbye dinner for Aaron Case

On Saturday night (the 28th of March) Clint and I went out to eat with our friends, Aaron and Dia Case, and several of their family members and friends to Guadalajara (sp) Restaurant for a little "farewell" dinner for Aaron. He left for Iraq on April 10th. It was a blast! Besides the delicious food, we had some awesome company and visited and laughed for a long time. It was a great night. After dinner, Clint talked me into going bowling with him (which I didn't want to do at first). It ended up being so much fun!! It was cosmic bowling night at Sunset Station and was soo cool to glow! Clint always knows what will be fun.... why don't I listen to him more!?! :) Well, it was a nice evening and here's a shout out to Aaron... "we'll miss you! and BE SAFE!"

Stephanie's baby shower

On Saturday afternoon, March 28, Kayden's wife, Stephanie, had her baby shower. She and Kayden (Clint's brother) are due to have their first baby (should be a boy!) on May 19th. We are all sooo excited. It was a fun shower thrown by her mom and sisters at her mama's house. Lot's of people came, and her mom had some fun games, and there was some awesomely yummy food too! Steph and Kayd received some real nice stuff for their little guy. Can't wait to welcome him into our huge and wonderful family!

Ground breaking ceremony for the new Water St. Stake Center

On Saturday, March 28th, the stake had a ground breaking ceremony for the new Water Street Stake Center going up where Ocean St. Building used to be. Clint and his brothers had the honor of singing at it. It was a beautiful day and a neat ceremony to be a part of. I'd never been to one so I didn't even know what to expect. The current and old stake presidency was there, along with a member of the first Black Mtn Stake presidency. The mayor (who also acted as a church area authority at the ceremony), and a city representative were there, along with several other long time members. It was short with good speakers and great music :). President Jones and President Belingheri both spoke about the history of the church and stake in Henderson. Very cool to here! Sister Snow led the music and Sister Burch played the piano. Clint, Keith, Kolby, Kayden, and Kourtney sang. It was awesome!!!... as usual!!! :)

North Substation Grand Opening!!

On March 24th the Henderson police department had the public grand opening of the new, "all green", north substation. To help in the celebration the city had a block party at the park in our neighborhood. It was so much fun! There was yummy food, tons of activities for the kids, lots of booths introducing local businesses and city programs to the neighborhood, a demonstration by the K-9 unit, and the mounted police had their horses out there for everyone to see and ask questions about. There was perfect weather for the event and so our family just walked everywhere. To top it all off, our family made the 11:00 news! Sweet! :) We are excited about having this new station near our home and hopefully, it'll prompt some good changes in our "old", yet wonderful, neighborhood!

On Sunday morning we took a little trip out to St. George, Utah to be a part of Kelly (Clint's bro) and Ashley's baby girl's blessing. It was such a beautiful day and it was a wonderful fast and testimony meeting in their ward. So many family members and friends came to support them. Layla looked adorable in her long white dress and Kelly gave her a beautiful blessing. After sacrament meeting we went across the church parking lot to a park and had a lunch/picnic with everyone. It really was a perfect day for it. The weather was gorgeous and we didn't want to leave.... that's why we stayed. haha. It was great to visit with Bec and Dave and Kelly and Ashley for a couple hours after everyone else left. On days that nice it's a sin to go indoors. haha. Thanks to Kelly and Ashley for having everyone and allowing us to be a part of your special day!

Jonas Rockwell Benson~

Clint's sister, Rochelle, and her husband, Gregg, had there 2nd baby boy yesterday, March 3, at about 7:30am! Jonas was a whopping 9 lbs 2 ozs! He is so so cute. It's so fun to have new babies in our family!! Shelly had a csection and did awesome. When I went to see her that afternoon she looked perfect and was laughing (that hurts after a csection) and seemed so happy to have her new little guy there! It'll be so fun to see how their almost 2 yrs old reacts to the new baby brother. haha. CONGRATS Gregg and Shell!
