13 years ago... yesterday! (I'm a little late)

Yep, August 26, 1995, Clint and I were married in the Las Vegas Temple! Wow, I can't believe it's been that long! I was soooo head over heels in love with him and... I still am. I met him during a high school play we were both in. I was 15 and a sophmore in high school. He was 18 and a senior. We still talk about it now and it's so fun to remember back to those wonderfully silly times. Clint even wrote a song about it a little while later and last night in bed he pulled out his guitar and sang it to me. What a cool guy!! I remember when he first called my house and it sent my heart pitterpattering like crazy. Fortunately, I can still say after so many years, my heart still goes pitterpatter when he I see him or hear his voice! What a lucky girl I am!!

Well, I thought I'd take a blast back to the past and post some fun pictures of that day. Enjoy the Fabulous style of the mid 90's, and the inexpensiveness of my wedding (I borrowed my wedding dress from Clint's cousin, I borrowed my veil from a lady in my ward, a member of the bishopric took our pictures, Clint made my bouquet, my mom made most of the dresses, my exboyfriend's family decorated the cultural hall, Grandma Brown made the beautiful cake, my friend got us our caketop, family took care of serving punch, and cups of nuts, mints, and m&ms, and a tape player was our DJ, AND we didn't have any money for our honeymoon til we opened our cards on the way to the Luxor Hotel to find all the cash! haha) It was one of the best days of my life!!! (Yes, my colors were mint green and light pink.... I still like those colors together. haha)

Decorated by my cousins Nathan and Brent (the inside was filled with wadded up newspaper) We drove all the way to the luxor like that and valet parked. We got a lot of cheers from onlookers. It was so fun! 9- In charge of refreshments... my Aunt Karen and Uncle Russ, Jody, and Kolby (so little), 10- In charge of the book and presents... Shannon and Rochelle (w/ a friend Carla Nielsen).

Happy Birthday To Me!!!!!

Yep, it's my birthday today!! I'm 32! I know some people don't like birthdays but I love them!! My day didn't start out so great (Clint had court all morning and is working all night... bummer), but I have to say thanks to all the texts I got and emails! They made my day. In between court and work, Clint came home and I took off for about 45 minutes running errands (alone time) and I went to sonic and got me a chilicheeseconey... just for me! It was actually nice to have some quiet time. :) When I got home Clint had baked me a birthday cake with pink frosting and sprinkles and they sang happy bday real quick before he left for work. :) Thanks honey! Clint actually got home at about 1:00 this morning from work and came in with 2 bags of hershey kisses and a big case of gum and a card for me! (Of course I was awake watching TV) so it was my first gift on my actual birthday. haha. Then later today mom and dad campbell stopped by to drop off movie tickets!! FUN! and then I got a surprise when I got an edible bouquet delivered to my house this afternoon.... full of yummy melon, and strawberries, and chocolate. Thanks mom and dad Mangum! So it ended up being a fun day. Thanks everyone.

oh- and I have to say that I have the GREATEST Sunday School class ever!!! I teach the 16-18 year olds and I think they are fantastic. I love to spoil them with treats all the time, but I didn't bring any yesterday. I teased them about why they didn't bring me a treat since it was my birthday (I never told them it was) and then 2 kids left and when they came back in they brought in a big "great american cookie" with "happy birthday Michelle" on it! What a cool surprise! Of course I shared it with them which brought more praise to me. haha. Thanks Melanie and Jeannette! Your awesome. (and I got cookies w/ candles on my doorstep last night from a mystery person (I have a tiny idea of who it was) ... so thanks to the mystery person! I love you guys!!)

On my 14th birthday Jennifer took me to get my pics taken at Olan Mills Photography. Gotta love those bangs, the braces, and the pegged pant bottoms... so RAD!
On my 18th birthday I was traveling up to Idaho w/ a ward member to go to Ricks College. This pic was taken for the yearbook about a week after my birthday.... again with the bangs!... I loved them! hahaI'm 32! (Emma took this picture) Real quick picture of my awesome cake (the frosting was melting cause the cake was still hot from the oven. haha) We were in a hurry so it had to do. It was a great surprise... again, thanks babe!

Jaron's home!

Jaron came home last Thursday and it was so great to see his smiling face! They let all of us go to the gate to get him, which was awesome. Lily was so happy to see him. (sorry that pic is blurry). He loved his trip and all the fun things they did (check out Clay and Al's blog if you want to see pics of his trip), and he even loved the plane rides. Crazy kid! We are glad he's home!

My family room! I love this room... It's the all around hang out room! :) The TV actually hangs on the wall above the fireplace just to the left (out of view in this pic.) So fun. :)... now to figure out what to do with the rest of the house. haha.

2008 Summer Olympic Games

I LOVE THE OLYMPICS!!!

8pm to midnight every night has become my favorite time of the day! Oh ya, it's olympic time! I'm sure my kids are wondering why they can hear their mom screaming and cheering (and sometimes jumping up and down) in the family room. haha. Actually, they are usually with me for a while anyways. I love all the olympians! They are phenomenal! Hope everyone's enjoying them!!

National Night Out!!

This was our first time going to National Night Out. It was on Water St. so really close to home which was nice. It's a great time to meet the local police and firemen along with other local businesses. It was also fun this year cause Clint was working one of the booths so we got to visit with him and meet some of his buddies. My sister, Jennifer came and helped me out w/the kids (thanks a million Jen). It was a great night! Henderson is an AWESOME place to live!! :)

I am so cool! Not really... I sat on this bike for the picture and then when I got up my butt was all wet! I accused the police officers there of doing it on purpose, but as we were all laughing they said that someone who was wet from the water squirter things was sitting on it before me! Thanks for the warnin HPD! haha. I walked around for about an hour w/ a wet butt before it dried. Good thing I have no dignity left. :) Clint (shorter bald guy in the front) and some guys from his squad and another squad. These guys were so nice and funny. They were so goofy for the picture. If you look close, one of the guys is squirting Clint in the face w/ a sqirt bottle. Nice timing. haha

Emma's Lemonade Stand and Bake Sale!

This past weekend we had a yard sale and Emma wanted to have a lemonade stand which quickly turned into a lemonade/bake sale. I think that she brought in more money then we did! It was a hit! She was fairly dedicated to it and woke up at 6:30 on Friday and Saturday morning to run it. Saturday she was kinda fading though (it was 110 degrees outside) and we gave up by the afternoon. That was mostly due to a dust devil that whipped through and picked up her stand and threw it into the street! Yep, cookies, glass, lemonade, the table, the easy up, the chair... everything was all over the sidewalk and street and across the

street. Way funny now ... not so funny then. :)

Well, Emma had a lot of visitors, but this was a fun one. The Henderson Fire Department pulled up in their fire truck (I initially thought one of my neighbors was hurt). But then they all jumped out and came over saying they all "needed lemonade and cookies". It was really cute. They talked to her about saving up for college, and teased her a little. She was so cute handing them lemonade and stuff. It was a fun experience for her. :)
