Mommy/Daughter Date

On New Years Day, Emma and I went on a mommy/daughter date. It was really fun. I had gone on one with Jaron, and Emma was way overdue for one. First, we went to the movies and saw "Bedtime Stories" (totally fantastic movie! I'd recommend it for anyone of any age). Then we wanted ice cream so we began our search for an ice cream shop. We went to scoops (closed down a while ago... who knew), then to coldstone (closed down too... bummer), then to the ice cream place on Stephanie and Horizon Ridge (can't remember what it's called... but closed down too... what's this world coming too when you can't find an ice cream shop open for business in January!). We called my sister in law, Bec, the conosour (sp) of ice cream and she told us about golden spoon so we went there! It was a great suggestion cause it hadn't gone out of business like everywhere else, but unfortunately, it was closed for the holiday. SOOOO, Emma and I gave up and went to McDonalds for flurrys! haha. It was a great evening! Thanks for the fun Emma.

What about Nelson's frozen custard? Or is that closed too?
Emma is growing up so fast. Good for you for spending one on one time with your kids!

I know, I'm so sad that all the ice cream places are closing! I do know that Neilson's frozen custrd moved over by Cafe Rio on Eastern and their stuff is FANTASTIC!
Glad you found some ice cream and had a fun date, that was one of the most fun memories I have from growing up.

They opened a new ice cream place where the Skoops was. It's actually The Frozen Yogurt Bar. It's kind of spendy, but very delicious.

I call it the Mormon Bar because I've been there a few times and always run into lots of people I know. So, make sure to do your makeup first :)!

Let me guess... Layla Mei, meaning sunshine or something in Japanese.... I don't remember the whole thing. Our nurse was telling us about that baby because one of Steven and Amy's daughter's name is Layla Maye!!! That's funny that we were talking about your new niece and I didn't even know it!!! "It's a small world after all"!!!!
